Developer Might&Delight has no publisher lined up for its Pid, yet it will release on all PC, PlayStation 3 and Xbox 360. The first two platforms don’t require a publisher, though the third one does. How then, is M&M getting past the iron fist of Microsoft? By ‘renting’ an Xbox Live Arcade slot from a publisher, of all things.
The studio, made up of former GRINners (think Bionic Commando: Rearmed), now has an already-secured but not used slot from an unknown publisher, according to Penny Arcade Report. In return for giving up one of their slots, the publisher will get a piece of the profits. It’s an interesting arrangement, and apparently quite common.
