EA has begun shoveling money towards the next generation. According to the company’s earnings report, the publisher will spend $80 million over the next year on “development of games for Gen4 console systems.”
Things didn’t get more specific than that though, which reflects the current state of things; everyone’s preparing, but no one is talking. When quizzed on an investors call, CEO John Riccitiello didn’t want to give a peep, either.
The most recent development house to have set its sights towards the next wave of consoles is Rocksteady, who was recently hiring for “a AAA title on the next generation platforms.”
