It’s one thing to take a suspend disbelief and acknowledge that a brainy teenager can get bit by a radioactive spider and gain superpowers, but picturing Stan Lee web-slinging through the New York City skyline? It sounds a little too good to be true, but it is, as long as you shop with Amazon.
The Marvel comic guru confirmed what we’ve known for awhile — he’ll be appearing as a playable character in the upcoming videogame adaptation of The Amazing Spider-man film due out later this summer. Now we know that gamers can only partake in Lee’s special mission, which revolves around Lee whipping around NYC in order to retrieve a misplaced manuscript, by pre-ordering the Beenox-developed game through online retailer Amazon. All divulged in a phone interview with Yahoo, the playable Stan Lee will take after Webhead and dish out some witty remarks while out and about the city.
A teen with super powers in the vein of an arachnid, a scientist that morphs into a lizard, and now one of the world’s most revered comic book creators traversing NYC by slinging webs. We’ll see how it all plays out when the game releases on June 26th.
