EA once had goals to bring back Syndicate as a third-person action title, the resume of one Steve Dyck reveals.
As dug up by Superannuation, the CV (*.pdf link) shows that Dyck was part of a “small team handpicked to revitalize the franchise” for the publisher at EA Canada.
It further reads: “Contributed to building the team, establishing pipelines, tools and systems. Authored many animated videos that helped keep the project alive while the engine was being developed.”
This all happened some time between 2003-2007.
Syndicate it that form never ended up happening then, with EA putting developer Starbreeze on an FPS version of the franchise instead. Their vision of the franchise released in February of this year, to so-so reviews.
