Valve’s The International heading to Seattle

Appearing for the first time in Cologne, Germany last year during the Gamescom convention, Valve’s DOTA tournament, The International, will be moving from its European stage to the US in 2012, specifically to Benaroya Hall in Seattle and will be held during the PAX Prime event on August 31st through September 2nd.

The International pits together 16 of the most elite DOTA teams — this year, DOTA 2 — out there and awards the winner with a million-dollar novelty check, which went to Ukrainian Na’Vi last year. I would assume that, like any human being having tasted the good side of life, Na’Vi will be entering this year’s competition as well, so you other teams better get your act together.

In addition, just like last year’s edition, the tournament will be broadcast live, in multiple languages and free of charge.
