Wasteland 2 to run on Unity

Crowd-funded Wasteland 2 has picked itself a game engine; the RPG will be making use of the ever-popular Unity tech.

The engine is popular with browser-based games, though Wasteland 2 will still be an old-fashioned executable, executive producer Brian Fargo has assured on Twitter (via), further promising the game to look “detailed and rich.”

inXile managed to gather over $3 million for the game through Kickstarter, which is more than three times the amount they were after. The game will be out on PC and Mac next year, in October.
