Here we go then, Diablo III has launched. Sort of.
As expected, demand for the long-awaited RPG has been immense right out of the gate and Blizzard’s servers have been stumbling under the load.
“Please note that due to a high volume of traffic, login and character creation may be slower than normal,” reads the franchise’s Facebook presence. “If you’re unable to login to the game or create characters, please wait and try again.”
Blizzard already last week warned that log-in woes are likely to occur, though it appears the problems are more serious than 40-second delays, with people being booted mid-game and all.
That said, it’s being worked on: “We’ve temporarily taken our Battle.net websites offline and launched more servers to accommodate for the traffic. We hope to resolve these issues as soon as possible and appreciate your patience.”
