Blizzard’s just-launched Diablo III pulled in more than 2 million pre-orders, the studio’s announced in a jubilant ‘it’s-out-now!’ presser this morning.
The impressive number is across both retail and digital pre-orders. A tiny asterisk tells us though that the figure includes the freely-distributed copies given to those who bought World of Warcraft‘s Annual Pass. So it’s not really 2 million pre-orders.
Either way, there are enough players out there to cause severe harm to Blizzard’s servers at the moment.
