Not afraid of some year-end competition, 2K’s went ahead and dated XCOM: Enemy Unknown for this October; the Firaxis-developed strategy actioner will arrive on all PC, Xbox 360 and PS3 on October 9th in North America and the 12th for Europe.
Of course, there is a pre-order bonus to be had. The Elite Soldier Pack will be available to all who commit early, with it offering “top-of-the-line soldier customization features that will only be available for a limited time,” including a classic XCOM soldier, soldier deco packs and color customization.
A special edition is announced as well, but for PC only. For $59.99 you’ll get an art book, a fold-out poster of the XCOM headquarters, an XCOM insignia patch, plus some digital goods such as a wallpaper, soundtrack “and more.”
A non-SE PC release is planned as well, though that will be available digitally only.
