About two weeks after news hit that subscriptions of the company’s MMO Star Wars: The Old Republic had taken a bit of dive, BioWare founders Ray Muzyka and Greg Zeschuk passed on word that the developer’s let go of some staff.
“Since you’re reading this you may likely have heard that we’ve done some restructuring here on the SWTOR team. Sadly, we are bidding farewell to some talented, passionate and exceptionally hard-working people who helped make SWTOR a reality,” reads a studio update from Muzyka and Zeschuk on the Bioware SWTOR forums. Exactly how much of a downsizing the developer enacted remains to be seen.
The staff losses won’t affect the BioWare’s support of its ambitious MMO, as the studio looks to remain “vibrant and passionate about our many upcoming initiatives Star Wars: The Old Republic.” Here’s to hoping all those affected by the layoffs land on their feet quickly.
