Epic victorious in Silicon Knights case; Too Human developer must pay $4.45 million

The Silicon Knights vs. Epic Games court saga has reached its conclusion; Epic won.

“Case over. Jury finds for Epic on all counts,” Epic’s Mark Rein tweets.

For a quick refresh: the Too Human developer was suing Epic based on claims that it was tunneling money away from supporting its Unreal Engine and into the development of Gears of War.

The jury didn’t agree.

Silicon Knights will now have to pay $4.45 million in damages. It was found guilty of breaching their licensing agreement,¬†misappropriating Epic’s trade secrets and infringing Epic’s copyrights in the Unreal Engine 3 code.
