Sony/Gaikai deal involves PS1, PS2 game streaming

The rumored deal between Sony and cloud gaming company Gaikai is to revolve around streaming both PS1 and PS2 games to PS3, GamesIndustry International has suggested.

According to site sources, the deal, likely to be announced at the E3 press conference this Monday, will involve both first and third party-games to be played on the system, despite the lack of emulation software that newer model PS3s have.

There wasn’t any mention to plans to expand this scheme further to the likes of Vita, but it would be pretty fantastic if that became a reality.

If true, it should be one of the highlights of next Monday’s conference.
