Ascend: New Gods, Lococycle and Matter out 2013

Signal Studios (Toy Soldiers), Twisted Pixel (The Gunstringer) and Blind Wink Games (think Gore Verbinski) all announced upcoming titles for next year during Microsoft’s E3 press conference.

Signal Studios is bringing Ascend: New Gods to the Xbox, a third-person, God of War-like action RPG title in which you play as Caos, “a gigantic breed of mighty warriors created to serve the will of the Gods” and battle against the Titans “across immense landscapes and limitless dungeons.” The game also offers connectivity across mobile and console Xbox Live platforms, which basically means you can play against Xbox 360 users from your mobile phone, which in turns means you can do that “anywhere, anytime.”

You would think that when someone describes something as being a “proficient in more than 40 forms of unarmed combat, earning Sensei status in Jiu-jitsu, Aikido, Krav Maga and Jeet Kune Do,” with the ability to be “equally deadly with blades, handguns and the latest in nuclear technology,” that someone is talking about the killer of killers. And that may just be so as Twisted Pixel introduces I.R.I.S. in its new game, Lococycle.

Any information on Blind Wink Games’ Matter is vague at this point, but with award-winning director Gore Verbinski at the helm, you should expect a “hero’s journey across a mysterious and visually stunning world,” exclusively on Xbox 360 and Kinect.
