You can’t announce a new Nintendo console without a new Mario game, so naturally the company announced New Super Mario Bros. U during its E3 press conference today. As with NSMB, New Super Mario Bros. U continues the four-player co-op gameplay.
In addition, one player can pick up the Wii Gamepad and help out by making changes to the level. In ‘Boost Mode,’ the player holding the gamepad will place blocks that will help characters speed along the level.
Nintendo is making the game more social by taking advantage of its social platform, Miiverse. Players will be able to interact with others using a “real-time social window.”
Video during the press conference showed off a new wingsuit, the ability to blow bubbles, and other usual Mario fun that gamers have come to expect.
