Temporary layoffs at Raccoon City dev; working on title with “major publisher”

Resident Evil: Operation Raccoon City developer Slant Six has thinned its workforce with nearly a quarter of staff have been let go, the studio’s confirmed. It’s a temporary move though, with plans in place to bring back each and every staffer.

“Regretfully, we can confirm that there have been some temporary layoffs at our studio,” a rep for the studio has told GI following a report on GameSpot.

“We must stress that these are temporary layoffs, which means we are working very hard on new business prospects so we can reinstate every single person affected.

“As an independent and close-knit studio, it is a very difficult but necessary business measure due to the current project cycle demands.”

In total, 26 workers were said to have been let go, with the remaining 70 working on the recently announced Strata Scavenger, as well as “a collaborative game venture with a major publisher.”
