EA’s Wii U line-up bigger than Wii’s; Mass Effect 3 not a basic port

With Mass Effect 3 the only game the publisher has announced for Wii U, one could say that EA has somewhat turned its back on Nintendo’s new machine. Not so, EA Games label president¬†Frank Gibeau says.

“We’ve got a couple of more games in development for Wii U,” he’s told CVG, noting that the company’s Wii U line-up will in fact be larger than that of its predecessor.

“It is the first next-generation platform coming out so we’re really supporting it.

“Just looking at E3 and where we’re at, we wanted to hold our fire a little bit on a couple of the other games that we’re working on. We’ll have more announcements this summer on the rest of the Wii U line-up.”

As for Mass Effect 3, it won’t be a simple port.

“We’ll do some new, unique things with it on the Wii U controller and the second screen that we’re innovating on,” Gibeau says. More details on that will have to wait until “later this summer” though.
