And they’ve done it again; Microsoft continues to chug along with Xbox 360 being the highest selling console in the US for yet another month, having sold 160,000 units on May. That, according to NPD Group, is “a 45 percent share of current-generation console sales.”
This was the 17th consecutive month where the system out-did all its competition.
The 360 also attracted $209 million worth of spending, which is more than what was spent on “the other two current-generation consoles.”
Nintendo hasn’t gone onto specifics but did announce that it shifted “more than 285,000 units of portable and console hardware” combined. According to NPD analyst Anita Frazier, only the 3DS escaped a year-over-year decline.
As for software, Diablo III claimed victory.
