Shigeru Miyamoto wants to make a FPS

Shigeru Miyamoto is a man well know for many things, among them are some of the biggest names in the industry such as Mario, Zelda and Donkey Kong. One thing that you don’t usually associate with Mr Miyamoto though is the world of the first-person shooter. In an interview with Kotaku Miyamoto revealed that he’d love to have a shot (pardon the pun) at making his own FPS, if only he had the time.

“I actually do kind of want to make a first-person shooter, but I don’t have time,” he said.

I guess it shouldn’t really come as much of a surprise that he’s so busy, with the Wii U just around the corner and the 3DS still going strong. With shooters these days being full of realistic weapons, settings and lots of dirt, it’d be great to see a bit of magic head this way. I’ve no idea what he’d come up with given the time, or even if it would be any good. One thing’s for sure, it certainly would be different.
