THQ adds to Darksiders II pre-order confusion

Deciding how and where to pick up a copy of Darksiders II just got a tad more frustrating.

Next to revealing retailer pre-order incentives a while ago already, THQ has now announced that it’s offering the game on its own store as well (for the biggest bonuses, of course), leaving those who already pre-ordered it elsewhere a little miffed no doubt.

Namely, if you go the THQ shop route, the first three pieces of DLC will be free, thanks to the included Season Pass. Those who’ve pre-ordered elsewhere only get the first Argul’s Tomb content free and discounts on the second and third pieces through Season Pass.

Here’s a handy list of the options available, in THQ’s on words:

  • If you pre-order (from anywhere) Argul’s Tomb is free since you’ll automatically be upgraded to the Limited Edition. Packs 2 and 3 can then be purchased at a discounted rate through the Season Pass.
  • If you pre-order from ShopTHQ you get packs 1-3 for free (since you get the Limited Edition and the Season Pass).
  • If you don’t pre-order you can buy Argul’s Tomb and the other packs individually, or you can buy Argul’s Tomb and the Season Pass.
