Kazuo Hirai has chosen to leave his role as representative director and chairman of Sony Computer Entertainment. Hirai has been with Sony since 1995 and was just named CEO on April 1.
This is probably just a case of Hirai being too busy in his new role as boss of all of Sony to maintain his oversight responsibilities on the SCE board. In any case, he’ll remain on the board in a part time role for now.
Hirai has served as chairman of the SCE board since September 2011.
