LOTR: Guardians of Middle-Earth gets a gameplay trailer.

Lord of the Rings: Guardians of Middle-Earth, the new Xbox Live Arcade and Playstation Network downloadable game releases this fall.  It is being considered a multiplayer online battle arena game, and it features five on five battles.  Monolith Productions has confirmed that over 20 characters will be on hand to layeth the smack down, including fan favorites such as Gandalf, Gollum, Legolas and even Sauron.  Teamwork is recommended in games like these where partners should level up new abilities according to the overall needs of the team, and work togther to coordinate strikes in destroying the opposing teams base.  You will be able to use specialized gems for each character that when activated provide different effects to power them up.  These “gem belts” come complete with different loadouts to create multiple combinations of effects for differing playstyles.  Players will be able to even upgrade their team’s towers by standing next to it.  The upgraded tower can provide healing areas and boost player’s defense, attack, or health.  If this game does well, it will prove that MOBA games like this one are viable for consoles and can open the market for others like League of Legends or Defense of the Ancients.
