The ever-audacious Valve is attempting to break new ground with the announcement of their new user feedback system called Steam Greenlight. This new feature will allow the community to decide exactly which indie games they would like to see on Steam.
How exactly will this work you might ask? Well, developers and publishers will post media and some tidbits about their game, and in turn, the Steam community will be able to rate and provide feedback for the specific title. This said feedback will eventually determine whether or not the game will be “greenlit” to make the big jump onto Valve’s highly-popular platform. The greater intention of this service is to provide a means for the smaller developers out there to get some much-needed exposure in this vast and daunting industry.
Steam Greenlight is currently scheduled to be released on August 30.
