Fortnite to be the first game to use Unreal Engine 4; first screens

Epic Games has announced at Comic-Con that their co-op sandbox survival game Fortnite will be the first game to use Unreal Engine 4.

In Fornite, players will have to forage for supplies and materials, explore their world, work with friends to build during the day and fight off the forces of darkness when night falls. The people attending the panel got a first look at Fornite’s building system, which showed off the way players can use scavenged materials to build and change their structures

Fortnite is scheduled to release in 2013 for PC, and possibly other systems later on as well; “Fortnite is PC primary and first,” Epic’s Cliff Bleszinski has said on Twitter, “but we wouldn’t rule out the possibility of other platforms later.”

First screens of Fornite here.
