Apparently the PS3 is getting it’s own “Genie”. According to a press release from peripheral maker Hyperkin, the new Game Genie will hit Amazon.com and select retailers July 17th.
The USB stick-looking device will act as a storage unit for PS3 data, allow “automatic profile reassignment”, allow players to trade saves and also give access to a data base of cheat codes. The device will also reportedly allow for the download of save files from the internet.
“The Game Genie Save Editor for PS3 is a breakthrough for gamers everywhere,” said Steven Mar, Hyperkin’s Executive Director. “The Game Genie Save Editor allows for even the most novice gamers to breeze past the hard or boring parts of games, leveling the playing field for a more enjoyable experience.”
