The classic PS1, N64 and Dreamcast title Tony Hawk’s Pro Skater is back with a full high definition makeover on Xbox Live. Tony Hawk Pro Skater HD is available for 1200MS points or basically $15.
The game features select levels from the first two Tony Hawk’s Pro Skater titles, and a collection of new and familiar faces to skate as. The game was rebuilt by developer Robomodo with a whole new HD engine that lets players see classic levels from the Neversoft titles such as the hangar in greater clarity and resolution than ever before.
The classic soundtrack from the original games is mostly back as well, so you can rock out to the jams of Powerman 5000 and the rest just like back in 2000.
Despite the HD graphics, the game still plays like the original titles too, so any changes/additions to the series afterwards are not found in the game. This keeps a traditional sensibility to the game, but may feel old to some. The game will also reportedly be coming to the Playstation Network and PC later this summer too. Oh, and the game lets you play as Tony Hawk’s son. Interesting.
I know I played the hell out of these games when I was a kid. What are some of your favourite Tony Hawk moments? Let us know in the comments section below.
