With Michael Fassbender recently getting behind the Assassin’s Creed movie, it’s clear that the franchise has gone from videogame to multimedia powerhouse, the latest addition being the forthcoming novel Assassin’s Creed:Forsaken.
Assassin’s Creed: Forsaken will be written by Oliver Bowden, a pen-name for an already established writer and historian Oliver Bowden (the smart money is on a shy Dan Brown), and will look into the backstory of Assassin’s Creed 3’s new protagonist, Connor. The story will chart how Connor becomes the badass he will no doubt be when we get our hands on him in-game. Expect a bloody swathe to be cut across the American frontier as Connor gets to grips with his Assassin skills.
With each game in the series boasting a rich storyline that cleverly blends real life historical figures with conspiracy-nut, Illuminati craziness, the novel has a well established universe to draw from and expand on.
Assassin’s Creed: Forsaken will be sliding into stores like a hidden blade on December 4 2012 and pickpocketing you for $9.99.
