With three released titles in the Gears of War series, and a fourth coming soon, some might say that the franchise could use some change to keep things interesting. Official Xbox Magazine sat down with executive producer Rod Fergusson where he revealed that a Gears FPS isn’t out of the question.
“I’m a big believer in never say never,” executive producer Rod Fergusson told OXM when asked about the possibility. “It’s all about what’s interesting in the industry at the time and where fans want us to take it. We don’t want to say never but it’s not on the top of my mind either. We look at what makes sense and move in that direction.”
Epic games is currently working with Polish developer People Can Fly on the next Gears of War title, Gears of War: Judgement. People Can Fly is known for their work on titles such as Bulletstorm and Painkiller: Hell Wars, both of which are FPS games, therefore seeing a Gears transition to a first-person style isn’t that much of a stretch.
