Playstation 3 owners can now shred in high definition with Tony Hawk’s Pro Skater HD

It seems as if  Playstation owners are getting a healthy dose of nostalgia recently. First they get Playstation 1 games ported to their Vitas, and now they get a HD remake of the classic Tony Hawk’s Pro Skater. This remake, brought to you in high definition by the folks at Robomodo, hearkens back to the glory days of the franchise, before all the needless sequels and silly board peripherals. The iconic controller that all Playstation players have had since the first Playstation will recall muscle memory as they play through seven classic levels with eight pros and four online multiplayer modes, all while listening to old songs from the game as well as new ones. Players can also brag about their scores by posting to Facebook as well.

Those familiar with the game will instantly recognize the objectives, including collecting the letters S-K-A-T-E and many more missions. For you completionists out there, Robomodo has added new objectives, named “projectives”, for those who finish the old ones. Players won’t get tired of this downloadable title any time soon, not when there’s this much content and more on the way. A new DLC pack is already scheduled to come out in a few weeks. This DLC includes three levels from the third installment of the Tony Hawk franchise, new pros, and more for only $4.99 USD. Tony Hawk’s Pro Skater HD is available now on the Playstation Network and XBLA for $15 USD; and it will be available on Steam sometime in September.
