It’d be easy to overlook Warface as just part of the Free-to-Play FPS fad…until you realize Crytek is behind the scenes. Known for their stunning scenery and slick gameplay with the Crysis series, Crytek is extending their CryENGINE 3 into what looks like a gorgeous free game and the just-released PAX Prime 2012 trailer, “Locations,” shows just how beautiful free can be.
Warface PAX Prime 2012 Trailer
The “future war” feel of Warface might seem like some to be just a Crysis clone but that is definitely not a bad thing. Instead, the class-based shooter looks like a shiny alternative to games like Ghost Recon Online. Providing both PvE and PvP play with daily updated missions, maps with exotic international locales, and an extended arsenal including what looks like mechanized armor, Warface has style in spades and, for the price, can you really go wrong? Expect to hear a lot more about this game as a release date bubbles to the surface.
