Warner Bros. Entertainment has just announced that their game, Gotham City Impostors, is now free to play on Steam. The game stars 2 opposing teams that take after either Batman or the Joker as they battle each other for control of Gotham City. Matches can take place in 8 different locations: 25th Floor, Ace Chemical, Amusement Mile, Arkham Asylum, Crime Alley, The Docks, East End, and Gotham Power.  Players get to choose what their character looks like for both sides, along with a variety of gadgets and weaponry. A wide variety of weapons are available, from normal pistols and shotguns to unique bows and freeze rays. Gadgets allow for different types of strategies. There are plenty of tools at your disposal: grappling hooks, gliders, and more for mobility; and bear traps, boomerangs, and more tactile options. This makes for a fun, frenetic paced game that shouldn’t be missed; and now there’s no reason to miss it.

Those who download Gotham City Impostors via the steam client will have access to the original game as well as all of the downloadable content. Those who already have bought the game may get the short side of the stick, at least for now. In order to play the game you must play it through Steam, meaning the game will have to be re-downloaded and all progress will be lost. This is sort of a bad way to treat those who supported the game so far only months after launch, so hopefully they give those who bought the game a nice reward for putting up with the reset. Either way this move to free-to-play should prove good for the game. It is quite a fun game, definitely worth checking out, especially now that the game is available for free on Steam.
