0x10c physics and lighting demo video released

Markus “Notch” Persson, the legendary creator behind Minecraft, has released a demo video of his latest project 0x10c.

For those of you who aren’t familiar with the project, 01x10c is a sandbox space adventure game set in the year the year 281 474 976 712 644 AD. Notch promises players the ability to land on planets, mine, pirate and decide pretty much exactly how they’d like to go about their space adventures once the game is released. 0x10c will also be playable online, so you can explore the universe with other space farers.

Information on the game’s development has been quite minimal so far, with Notch occasionally releasing little tidbits of information through Twitter and Reddit.  A major update came today, in the form a video demo. The video doesn’t show very much in terms of actual gameplay, but does show off the pretty impressive lighting and physics engine Notch has been working on so far.
