Halo 4 Forge Mode details emerge with new gameplay video

Gamespot has recently uploaded a video featuring Forge Mode and explaining some of the things you can do in it. There are also a ton of details listed below for those who don’t want to watch the video and spoil themselves with it, heh. There’s a lot of reading involved though, so you better get comfortable. Alright, so here’s what we know so far:

Objects can be duplicated by using the d-pad which will allow you to easily place the same object in different places on the map (how convenient!)

Once an object turns green, it means you can place the object on that part of the map. Don’t worry though. If you make a mistake, a ‘quick delete’ feature is readily available for you

Upon placing an object on the map, you can select an option to lock the object to prevent it from moving. This can come really handy when you’re building bigger maps to prevent accidentally moving the wrong piece

If you don’t like how things have turned out, there’s an easy fix to that. A ‘delete everything’ option is available so you can wipe the slate clean and start from scratch again

You can adjust the width and height of ‘Trait Zones’ as well as additional features which will not be visible to the player. In these zones, you can set your health, weapons, equipment, shields, damage and even increase jump height, movement speed, etc. The customization is endless

A new gadget known as ‘Gravity Volumes’ changes the traits of a new zone once a player enters. In this zone, low gravity is activated

Shadows will be visible from the object depending on where it is placed

Most of the objects in Forge Mode include magnets which allow you to easily snap multiple objects together

Each map will have multiple objects with different options as well as their own specific palette

The newly introduced ‘Ordinance System’ gives the player access to dropping ordinance. Random drops will determine which ordinance shows up by randomizing. The first drops will be found at the start of the map and any objective drops will be obtained after meeting certain conditions (usually involving clearing a specific goal of some sort)
