Score the Black Ops II Soundtrack on iTunes in November

Call of Duty is no stranger to calling some of of the biggest names in the entertainment industry to help make their release one of the biggest each year. If you haven’t caught the latest trailer for Black Ops II featuring a cameo from Iron Man himself, we can wait while you check it out below.

The music of the popular shooter series is another staple to fans. Each installment brings something new to the table. This year, Treyarch dug deep and tapped Academy Award Winner Trent Reznor to compose the theme for Call of Duty: Black Ops II. Reznor has worked on several Award winning films, including The Girl With the Dragon Tattoo and The Social Network. The score for the game was composed by videogame vet Jack Wall, whose work was heard in the first two titles of the Mass Effect series.

Players can look forward to over 40 tracks when the album drops on iTunes and other digital marketplaces on November 13 – the same day as Black Ops II. CoD fans who will be picking up the Hardened and Care Package Collector’s Editions will receive a copy of the soundtrack with their purchase. Those picking up the standard edition can nab the soundtrack for $11.99.

This isn’t the first time Call of Duty has pulled some major talent for your aural pleasure. 2009’s Modern Warfare 2 featured music by Hans Zimmer, who has lent his skills to The Dark Knight Trilogy, Pirates of the Caribbean, and many other major Hollywood productions.
