For those of you concerned about the future of the iconic Blue Bomber, fret not. According to a recent interview with Capcom Senior VP, Christian Svensson, he’s not going anywhere. In the latest issue of Nintendo Power, he said:
“I can say with certainty that you’ve not seen the last of the Blue Bomber on consoles and handhelds, and, with luck, we’ll be celebrating his 50th anniversary, including all of the games you’re going to enjoy over the next 25 years.”
He then went on to add:
“That said, an issue we’ve had in the past has been talking about games and announcing them before we’re certain they’re going to com out, which unfortunately has lead to profound disappointment for many fans. So for now, I’m going to have to stay mum about any details.”
So, while it may be disappointing now, still knowing that Mega Man Legends 3 has been cancelled, who knows… There may be a light at the end of this tunnel and Capcom may deliver something great after letting down so many fans. We’ll have to keep an eye on them and see what they have planned. All I know is… It’s going to take quite a bit to re-capture the heart of Mega Man fans and gain their trust again.
This next title will have to blow the expectations we had for Mega Man Legends 3 out of the water and make us forget it even existed.
