We’ve known that Assassin’s Creed III has been destined for the Wii U since Ubisoft was showing it off in E3, but just recently the company announced that AC III will be available as a Wii U launch title on November 18 in North America.
The player’s Assassin’s Creed III experience on the Wii U should be similar enough to the one enjoyed by PlayStation 3 and Xbox 360 owners, but those holding out for the Wii U version will have a couple of extra features to play with thanks to the Wii U GamePad. Wii U users will have the added benefit of a “wider, more expansive map” on the GamePad screen. They’ll also have a way to switch weapons off-screen.
Ubisoft says that the GamePad functions will make gameplay easier, but we can imagine that looking down at the controller to check the map or change weapons might not be the most fluid process. We’ll have a better idea when the Wii U launches in North America on Monday.
