Sega now accepting closed beta sign ups for Phantasy Star Online 2 on Vita

Sega has just announced they are accepting closed beta sign ups for Phantasy Star Online 2 on Vita, which originally launched for PC on July 4th, 2012. If you have PC characters, you will be able to use them in the Vita version, however this will not be possible during the closed beta. You must create new characters for that.

The closed beta sign ups will end on January 7, 2013 and a total of 50,000 participants will be selected. The closed beta is said to take place during mid-January and players that reach level 10 during the closed beta will be awarded the following items:

A-Riser/Nacht (Gunslash weapon)

Photon Sphere

FUN500 ticket

If you are selected, you will be sent a product code to redeem through your e-mail. Having played the PC version for a few months, I can assure you that reaching level 10 will be pretty easy, heh. If you’re interested in signing up, just hop on your Japanese PSN account and go to the Playstation Network Store to find the Phantasy Star Online 2 logo and click on it, and download it just like you would anything else. You should get a message thanking you for your participation and that’s it… Then you wait!

I don’t have my Vita turned on at the moment to check for myself, but it should be a relatively big icon and very noticeable. If it isn’t though, look for these characters:

Anyway! Good luck to all of those that sign up! The PC version is fun and much like the PC version, this version will also be free-to-play with a cash shop system.
