Did you ever want to mix reality with your videogames? Capcom has heard your cries for integration (you strange people) and has partnered with Augmented Reality pros Aurasma to create The Eye of Dante, a cellphone app that combines with the upcoming DMC Devil May Cry in unique ways. If you join The Order here (they are the organization that fights all the demons in the game), you can download the app for your cellphone. By completing various missions, which involve using your camera to discover hidden messages behind objects in the real world (make sure you don’t bump into people while doing this, as that will be your greatest challenge), players can obtain points to use toward their style ranking. Gamers can also use these points to get wallpapers, ringtones, and Red Orbs for use in DMC Devil May Cry; which are horrifying, screaming faces used as the game’s currency to obtain items and various techniques. The Eye of Dante will also give people the ability to customize photos in a cool way (hopefully this means you can add Dante to any photo of yourself and pretend he’s your best friend), and you can upload these to your favorite social media sites. The app is available now on Apple’s store and Google’s store for no charge, but you won’t be able to use its points in-game until DMC Devil May Cry launches on January 15, 2013, for both Europeans and Americans. Happy hunting, all; just try to be aware of your surroundings at all times!
