Fantastic news for Pokemon trainers everywhere that want to be the very best (like no one ever was). The Pokemon Company International made an announcement today that they are adding Global Battle Union Wi-Fi tournaments to its 2013 championships, starting with their winter bracket, December 13th to the 17th (holy crap, that’s next week!). Finalists will earn byes and points that can potentially lead to them gaining invitations to the World Championships that will take place in Vancouver (and not Victory Road, as I originally thought).
This is the first time in the championship’s history that results from Wi-Fi battles will be officially counted, which is great for people who can’t afford to travel to Europe, where the bulk of the live events will take place. Players can register for the Winter Battle between now and 11:59 p.m. on December 12th, so they are really giving you all the time they can possibly afford to give you, so break a leg! There will be four more Wi-Fi events within the coming new year. All important registration rules and details can be found here, you can create an account here, and battles will take place in the Global Battle Union.
Go forth and send your pets to battle each other until exhaustion, trainers!
