With Dead Space 3 making a big change to let players play in a Co-Op mode, Dead Space 3 will also be the first Co-Op game to incorporate voice commands. The game will use simple commands to help find your partner, give your partner ammo or health, show objectives, fire your stasis, order your partner to the attack the enemy and many more.
“The voice commands in Dead Space 3 give players a unique way to take down the terror, whether they choose to face the Necromorphs alone in single-player, or alongside a friend with drop-in / drop-out co-op,” said Steve Papoutsis, Executive Producer on Dead Space 3 and VP,General Manager of Visceral Games. “Dead Space 3 delivers the action-horror experience our fans have come to know and love. And with the ability to survive the adventure alone, with a friend, or with Kinect, we’re excited about extending the spine-tingling Dead Space experience to a whole new audience of players.”
I always look forward to a new Dead Space game and I am very excited to try out the Co-Op, but the voice commands might be a little too much. If Visceral Games thinks for a second that I’m going to be able to shout out proper commands, while I’m screaming like a
girl man then they are seriously mistaken. Honestly, it’s a good idea, but I think players will be more concerned about getting torn in half rather than using the Kinect’s voice commands.
