Valve pulls down The War Z from Steam

Joystiq has reported that the open-world zombie MMO from Hammerpoint Interactive, The War Z, has been taken down from Steam.

Valve pulled the game down after players complained that they had been duped into playing a game that was very different from the one they were promised on its official Steam page. Players said that the game lacked many advertised features, and saw this as an attempt to scam players into throwing their money at the developers.

To add fuel to the fire, a key developer responded to player complaints in a way that many felt was both stubborn and unsympathetic.

If you’ve already bought the game, then it looks like you’re part of an exclusive club of zombie hunters. If not, then have no fear! We’ll be keeping you posted on any information that comes our way regarding a new release.
