As you probably have heard by now (unless you live under a rock and even then you should know if you’re on the net), the world may or may not end tomorrow. Personally I am hoping that it doesn’t, don’t know about you but I’ve got a lot to live for (hah).
Anyways, one reason to hope for the best tonight is the list of great-looking games that are scheduled for release in 2013. Let’s take a look at the top 5 shall we?
1. Grand Theft Auto V
This one is the obvious choice in my top 5. Grand Theft Auto V continues the gaming empire launched by Rockstar with what looks to be a thrilling, detailed and enthralling GTA experience. The trailers released so far have been impressive, and judging by Rockstars track record with the franchise, I think everyone is expecting a masterpiece – more or less.
2. Crysis 3
Crysis 3, Cryteks newest entry into the popular series has the protagonist Prophet as he returns to New York. Sounds like it could be a repeat of the last game but there’s a twist. a giant Nanodome covering much of the city has turned it into a jungle like environment changing up the feel and look of the game. Will the game shine among the titles coming out in 2013? Time will tell (hopefully).
3. Bungies Destiny Project
There isn’t too much I can say on this one at this point. Only artwork and minor details have leaked regarding Bungies next big thing, but from the rumors going around, it could be quite a bit like Halo. Chances are we’ll get a better look at “Destiny” soon.
This intriguing title combines open-world sensibilities with high tech espionage and gadgetry in what looks to be one of the coolest upcoming titles of 2013. The graphics look slick as well from the trailers released thus far, if the gameplay is tight then this might be a big hit.
5. Gears of War: Judgment
The newest entry into the popular Gears of War franchise for the XBOX, “Judgment” is the first title developed by People Can Fly. They were acquired by Epic Games in August and have worked on the PC port of the original Gears of War as well as Bulletstorm. Hopefully the game retains everything that makes Gears a great series.
