Kickstarter campaign launched for new games console

A company called PlayJam is working on an affordable and portable games console called the “GameStick”. Just how affordable you ask? The launch price of the console is supposedly going to be just $79! Incredibly cheap when compared to launch price of the Xbox 360, PlayStation 3 and Nintendo Wii.

The GameStick plugs straight into an HDMI slot (the Game??) and comes with a Bluetooth controller (the Stick??). It’ll also feature a “marketplace” that will allow players to browse through and download new games. Several developers, like Hutch, Relentless Software and Madfinger, have announced that they’re going to be working with PlayJam to release an initial line-up of titles for the console.

To support the development of this project, PlayJam have launched a Kickstarter campaign and are asking players to support the development of this console. Their fundraising goal is currently set to $100,000.

For more information on the GameStick, and to support the development of this project, head on over to the official Kickstarter page (link above).
