Painkiller Hell and Damnation heading to consoles in April

The super gory Painkiller Hell & Damnation, originally released on the PC back in October, is now coming to both the 360 and PS3 on April 5th. Players will be able to rain hellfire upon their enemies alone or with a friend through 4 chapters full of demons straight from your nightmares, or kill each other online through several multiplayer modes. Publisher Nordic Games had to delay the console versions slightly to get it up to the PC version’s level of quality, but promises it will be well worth the wait when we finally get our greedy little paws on it in 3 months. Painkiller Hell & Damnation will have a Standard Edition priced at $30 and a Collector’s Edition priced at $40.

Painkiller is one of those FPS games from the glory days of Doom, Duke Nukem 3D, and Serious Sam, when they weren’t as serious and drab as they are today, so I’m looking forward to experiencing this in all of its HD glory. Plus, I’m very excited to fight gigantic bosses that “raise the stakes” for our hero with their enormity and massive firepower (I said stakes because you use stakes as a weapon! Terrible pun, but well worth it).
