Capcom confirmed rumors today that their 3DS hit, Resident Evil Revelations, will be making its way to home consoles in May. The game has been upgraded with HD graphics, enhanced lighting effects, and extra OOMPH in the audio department. What would an updated version be without additional content, though? Nothing, so that’s why Capcom is adding a bunch of extra stuff to the Resident Evil Revelations experience, ensuring that I will buy it again for my 360 (though I would have just for the Achievements because I have problems). A new enemy will be added, along with a harder difficulty mode for us sadists, and a bunch of stuff for Raid Mode. For those of you who didn’t get a chance to play Resident Evil Revelations on the 3DS, Raid Mode is sort of like the classic Mercenaries Mode in that you fight waves of enemies, either online with a friend or solo if you have the guts. You can level up your character and earn weapon upgrades, so it is almost like Final Fantasy got mixed in with my Survival Horror. Exclusive new weapons and skill sets will be available for the console port version of Raid Mode, as well as additional characters like the survivor against incredible odds, Hunk (true to his name, his face is gorgeous). In addition, Resident Evil Revelations themed content will be ready for gamers through Residentevil.net once the title launches.
Players can pre-register for the service from January 24th onward and get early access to STUFF and get more THINGS once the game arrives (Capcom is mum on the details). Resident Evil Revelations is due for the 360, PS3, PC, and WiiU on May 21st in North America and May 24th in Europe. The game will retail for $50 and can be obtained digitally for the PS3 and PC at launch (dates for the digital versions for the other 2 consoles will be revealed at a later date). More information can be found at the Capcom-Unity website.
