SEGA Europe and SEGA of America have announced that the stylishly sexy Bayonetta is coming to the PSN by the end of the month. This action platformer made by the creators of Resident Evil and Devil May Cry is as crazy and outlandish as they come (there are so many butterflies and lollipops that it is slightly nauseating). Gamers will get the chance to fill in the boots of the seductive and impossibly proportioned Bayonetta; a witch with magical powers who defeats countless demons from heaven and hell with her long, luxurious hair. Bayonetta must keep her combos going and dodge expertly, moving from enemy to enemy like a graceful dancer, until she can land the finishing blow with her scary hair demon that emerges like a typhoon off of her head (and you thought you had bad hair days; at least you can wear a hat). Fans of the original Devil May Cry will be happy to know that its director, Hideki Kamiya, also directed Bayonetta; so they will feel right at home as they land 50 hits on an unsuspecting demon twitching helplessly in the air as Bayonetta slices, dices, and pumps it full of lead.
Bayonetta will be available to download through Sony’s PSN on January 29th for $20 in the U.S., and January 30th for £11.99/€14.99/AU$23.95 in Europe. A digital version of Bayonetta is already purchasable for the 360 through XBLA. For more news on Bayonetta and other SEGA games, visit SEGA’s Twitter here and their Facebook page here.
