First video update surfaces for standalone version of DayZ

GamesRadar has reported that Dean “Rocket” Hall, the developer behind the critically-acclaimed ArmaII mod DayZ, has uploaded a development video for the stand-alone version on his YouTube channel.

The video shows us some of the visual improvements that Hall has made to the game since development of the project started in late 2012. More notably, the clothing of characters looks much better than the original. Hall has also stated that team is focusing on a more simplified inventory system for the game.

There’s no official release date for DayZ just yet, but Hall has confirmed “it won’t be too long” before a public testing phase in the game’s development kicks off.
