The Witcher series reaches over 5 million in sales, goes on sale

Here’s some good news for fans and potential purchasers of The Witcher – developer CD Project Red has announced that the series has sold over 5 million copies combined and will be sold at sale prices to celebrate the milestone.

“The Witcher 3 will be a crowning achievement for the RPG genre, but I am also proud to announce that the number of previous Witcher games sold has surpassed 5 million copies. This is great news, especially since the 2012 debuted console debut on the Xbox 360 contributed largely to this result, receiving great feedback from gamers and critics.” – said Adam Kici?ski, CEO of CD PROJEKT SA group.

The Witcher 2: Assassins of Kings Enhanced Edition for Xbox 360 will be on sale for $29.99 USD and the game will also be sold on Steam and for 50% off. If you were thinking of picking the game up, now may be the best time to do so. The game is critically acclaimed and having played it myself I would definitely recommend it to fans of modern RPG titles.

Also look out for more news on the recently announced The Witcher 3: Wild Hunt soon as details are released. CD Project Red is already promising that the combat mechanics will be greatly improved and more responsive than ever.
