TECMO KOEI has announced that the WiiU exclusive Ninja Gaiden 3: Razor’s Edge will shred its exclusivity ties and be released for the Xbox 360 and PS3 on April 5th, both digitally and at retail. Developed by Team NINJA, the main story of Ninja Gaiden 3: Razor’s Edge revolves around the stealthy ninja Ryu Hayabusa and his quest to lift a curse from his body before it murders him (I feel Ryu should just ignore his quest and use some Gold Bond and he will feel better in a jiffy).
IN CASE YOU DIDN’T KNOW, that Razor’s Edge subtitle means this is an updated version of the previously released Ninja Gaiden 3, with features like new playable female characters (Kasumi, Ayane, and Momiji), a new gameplay mode called Chapter Challenge, a reworked battle system with better enemy AI (now they have cerebellums!), a Ninja Skills update system (spend Karma you earn in battle to buy weapon upgrades and NEW DUDS), and expansive online features with bonus content.
Other enhancements include reduced Quick Time Events (phew, I can finally make waffles during cutscenes without having to fly to my controller) and the return of dismemberment; this means downed foes can still attack and kill you, even without arms or legs, so make sure you keep slicing and dicing until only torsos remain! This announcement makes me giddy because I do not own a WiiU and believe in the saying “the more the merrier.” More info on Ninja Gaiden 3: Razor’s Edge and Team NINJA can be found on their Facebook page and Twitter.
