Slice your way through Metal Gear Rising: Revengeance, out today for PS3 and 360

Today, Konami Digital Entertainment announced that their slice-n-dice action game Metal Gear Rising: Revengeance is now available at retail outlets throughout the Americas. This is the first game in the series where the story focuses exclusively on Raiden and is more action-oriented than stealthy. Tomoyuki Tsuboi, President of Konami Digital Entertainment, reflects on this change, saying: “This new Metal Gear title leads the beloved franchise into uncharted waters. While maintaining an epic story in the vein of what MG is known and loved for, Metal Gear Rising: Revengeance challenges players with a sophisticated, action-packed game that both old and new Metal Gear fans will enjoy and appreciate.” Kojima Productions has teamed up with Platinum Games (woo, the Bayonetta devs!) to create this action-packed title, with Raiden as the main protagonist, slicing through enemies with his high-frequency katana and thirst for VENGEANCE (or REVENGEANCE, which I hope is added to the dictionary soon so I can figure out what it means). Metal Gear Rising: Revengeance contains the following:

– All new katana-focused gameplay with a badass cyborg ninja as the main character.

– 60 fps combat with beautiful graphics that push the latest consoles to their limits.

– ZanDatsu Cut Mechanic, which means you can cut things in real time, any way you choose (diagonally is going to be my default go-to cut, because I love flicking the thumbstick that way).

Metal Gear Rising: Revengeance is now out for the PS3 and 360, for $60, and is rated M for Massive Amounts Of Cyborg And Human Violence.
