Gearbox kicked off PAX East by announcing a new character for Borderlands 2, IGN.com reports. Let us introduce you to Krieg the Psycho. He’ll be available sometime during May and you’ll be able to purchase him for 800 MSP ($9.99).

He’s pretty mean-looking, and for good reason. Krieg is based on the psycho enemies encountered in both of the Borderlands games. And his strength comes from being… Well… Psycho.
Krieg’s class ability, “Blood Axe Rampage,” allows him to regain health while attacking enemies. Couple that with his penchant for running into stupidly-dangerous situations, and you have a character that might strike a few peoples’ fancies.
Unsurprisingly, Krieg’s tech trees all seem to unlock different ways for Krieg to remain his foolhardy, impetuous self. He can specialize in “Bloodlust,” “Mania,” and “Hellborn.” The “Bloodlust” tree is focused on constantly dealing damage (grenades, anyone?). “Mania” is for players who like to be rewarded for taking massive amounts of damage. And “Hellborn” is an elemental-based skill tree that caters to players who like to be on fire, literally speaking, as they wander through Pandora.
All-in-all, Krieg is another perfect example of what the Borderlands series is all about: guns, insanity and bloodshed.
Krieg’s exact release date hasn’t been confirmed yet, but we know that he won’t included as part of the Borderlands 2 Season Pass. Sorry folks, it looks like we’re all going to have to pony up the extra cash for the chance to play as him.
